Electric & Hybrid Electric Vehicle Systems

Electric & Hybrid Electric Vehicle Systems is a two day technical training course from AK Automotive covering electric and hybrid electric vehicle high voltage systems.

The course is aimed at vehicle mechanics, technicians and apprentices working in the motor industry who would like to gain a working knowledge of how electric and hybrid electric vehicle high voltage systems work.

The course covers essential high voltage electric vehicle health and safety awareness, tools and equipment requirements and explains the disciplines required for working safely on and around modern electric and hybrid electric vehicles.

The course comprises classroom technical sessions supported by workshop based hands-on vehicle practical sessions carried out on live road going vehicles.

During the course, you will learn how to make the vehicle safe using manufacturer specific battery isolation procedures and connecting and disconnecting external charging equipment to charge the vehicle’s high voltage battery.

You will learn how to evaluate high voltage system operating parameters using diagnostic scan tool equipment to view live data in the the vehicle’s battery management system control module and other high voltage systems.

You will also learn how to safely carry out test measurements on the vehicle’s high voltage systems using the correct specification of test instruments, PPE and safety equipment.

At the start of the course, you will receive a detailed and fully illustrated set of course reference notes which are yours to keep at the end of the course

By the end of the course, you will have gained a detailed working knowledge of how the high voltage systems work on modern electric and hybrid electric vehicles.
