AK Automotive was established in 1999 by former Saab Master Technician Tony Kitchen, initially providing technical training services for vehicle manufacturers.
Since then, Tony has expanded the business and now also prepares and delivers bespoke on-site training courses for motor industry customers in the independent and non OEM aftermarket.
His training courses include electric and hybrid electric vehicle systems training as well as being authorised by the IMI as an IMI Approved Assessment Centre to offer the IMI Level 2 Award in Electric / Hybrid Electric Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities and Level 3 Award in Electric / Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement qualifications.
As a freelance training instructor, Tony supplies training services to a wide range of motor industry customers. He specialises in vehicle electrics and diagnostics and is a qualified teacher / technical instructor in the adult education and training sector.
Tony keeps up to date with modern vehicle electrical systems technologies through
on-going hands-on-vehicle research and personal development. This often includes
on-site research and diagnostics technical support assistance at customer’s premises as well as attending relevant CPD training and update courses.
Tony is also a PHEV owner / driver and holds the IMI Level 4 qualification in the Diagnosis, Testing & Repair of Electric / Hybrid Vehicles and Components (VRQ). He offers a two day technical training course in Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicle Systems
